Already a familiar face among startup CEOs in Hue, this time I met with Ngo Duc Vuong - Director of Hue One Food Company, whose flagship product has been dubbed “Hue Pizza” - the Thuan An pressed rice cake. We chatted over coffee in Grand Prairie, Texas, as he continued his mission of spreading the story of Hue’s entrepreneurial journey through the pressed rice cake and promoting Hue culture in the U.S market.

On the afternoon of May 15, at the Hue City People’s Committee headquarters, a sponsorship signing ceremony took place between the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2025 and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), marking BIDV’s collaboration in key cultural and tourism events during the National Tourism Year in Hue.

The lotus is one of the beautiful symbols of serenity, peace, and tranquility. In Hue, the lotus blooming season usually begins in May and June, when the weather changes into hot and sultry days. This time also coincides with April of the Lunar year, the time marked with the significant event of the Grand Buddhism Celebration (Vesak).

From April 11th - 16th, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Director of Knowledge Management Institute (KMI) and Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Quality Association, returned to Hue for a week to devote to education and local enterprises. On the afternoon of April 29, Hue Central Hospital (HCH) successfully performed a transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) for the first time on a 76-year-old female patient from Da Nang. This marks the hospital’s first implementation of this technique.

In the 2024-2025 National Excellent Student Exam, students from Hue City achieved 85 awards, placing Thua Thien Hue among the top-performing provinces nationwide. This marks a record-breaking year with the highest number of national awards ever achieved by the city’s teams.

In Da Lay commune (Da Teh district, Lam Dong province), the new homeland of the people from Hue today, it is hard to recognize the traces of the hardships from nearly half a century ago. The most recognizable feature in this rural area that carries "Hue far away" is the distinctive Hue accent, the conical hats of the elderly women glistening as they shield their kind smiles, and the lively mornings with loc and nam cakes. We arrived at the Da Lay market in the Central Highlands and felt as if we were back in Hue, enjoying street food and chatting at a corner of Dong Ba or An Cuu markets…

On the evening of March 25, the opening ceremony of National Tourism Year (NTY) - Hue 2025 officially took place at the semi-realistic stage by the Huong River, marking the beginning of a series of cultural, sports, and tourism activities across provinces and cities throughout the country.

During two days from March 19 to 20, an Australian famtrip group visited, experienced, and surveyed tourism products in Hue City. This was an opportunity for the city's tourism sector to promote and showcase the unique tourist routes, destinations, and tourism products of the locality to the Australian tourist market.

To provide the activities of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 to tourists, the tourism industry of the Imperial Ancient Capital, along with other units and businesses, has developed a plan to promote and introduce the events in a focus way, reaching both domestic and international markets.
