Creating opportunities for people with disabilities

HNN.VN - On the morning of April 17th, Hue City Association of Persons with Disabilities – Patronage Association for Persons with Disabilities and Orphans held a ceremony marking Vietnam Persons with Disabilities Day (April 18) under the theme “Promoting the Right to Participation of Persons with Disabilities – Creating Breakthroughs for Development”.

This year’s theme sets out a clear call to reassess the role of persons with disabilities in social life. Accordingly, persons with disabilities should be recognized not only as individuals in need of support, but also as important actors capable of participating in and contributing to all areas of society. Ensuring their right to participation is therefore seen as a foundation for building a fair, compassionate, civilized, and sustainably developed society.

On this occasion, Vietnam Relief Association for Disabled Children presented five computers, worth a total of 50 million VND, to five outstanding students with disabilities. At the same time, the Compassionate Hands Club presented 20 gift packages to association members with disabilities. These gifts carry not only material value but also serve as meaningful encouragement, strengthening confidence and motivating students and members to continue striving in life.
