In 2026, the 19th edition of the contest marked remarkable progress in both quantity and quality, drawing from more than 1.000 grassroots-level projects that went through selection rounds at schools and ward/commune levels. This year, the city-level organizing committee received 297 registered projects from 39 wards and communes, high schools, vocational education-continuing education centers, and non-public educational institutions across the city.

Across five categories, there were 98 projects in learning tools and educational aids; 45 projects in software and information technology; 58 projects in environmentally friendly products; 33 projects in household tools and children’s toys; and 63 projects focused on technical solutions to respond to climate change, protect the environment, and promote economic development

Dr. Ho Dac Thai Hoang, Chairman of Hue City Union of Science and Technology Associations and Head of the Contest Organizing Committee, emphasized that the determination to successfully implement Politburo Resolution 57 on science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation had become a “guiding principle” for contestants. He noted that projects in this year’s contest were no longer merely static models, but instead strongly focused on digitalization solutions, artificial intelligence (AI) applications, and addressing urgent societal issues such as heritage preservation, environmental protection, and modern education.

This was the first year the organizing committee handed out Creative Potential prizes funded through sponsorship contributions

After the judging rounds, the organizing committee decided to present 88 awards, including 6 First prizes, 7 Second prizes, 13 Third prizes, 29 Consolation prizes, and 33 Creative Potential prizes funded through social sponsorship sources. All 39 organizing units at the ward and commune levels that submitted projects had entries receiving awards.

According to the organizing committee, the results demonstrated strong and coordinated participation from local authorities and schools, along with dedicated support from teachers and students’ enthusiasm for scientific research.

Also based on the contest results, the organizing committee selected and nominated 26 outstanding projects representing Hue City’s young innovators to participate in the 22nd National Youth and Children Innovation Contest.
