The 2025-2026 Secondary School Science and Engineering Competition attracted the participation of 142 units, including 104 secondary schools, 36 high schools, and 2 continuing education-vocational education centers. The participating units submitted a total of 195 projects across four subject areas, with 359 students taking part, including 221 secondary school students and 138 high school students.
Compared to previous years, this year’s competition featured several adjustments in its organizational format. Following the school-level rounds, 195 projects were selected for submission to the city-level competition. Through the appraisal and preliminary screening rounds, the Organizing Committee selected 121 high-quality projects for nomination. Subsequently, the Panel of Judges chose 76 outstanding projects for awards and 24 representative projects from participating units that met the requirements to advance to Round 2, where students presented and defended their projects before the judges.
The Science and Engineering Competition for secondary school students is the result of experiential and creative activities in scientific research, contributing to the development of research skills and scientific thinking, and supporting improvements in the quality of teaching and learning in schools.
