Originating from the idea of General Secretary To Lam, Petrovietnam came up with the idea of implementing of the “STEM Innovation Petrovietnam” program. With the goal of building 100 internationally standardized STEM Labs in 34 provinces and cities nationwide, this is the largest education project ever initiated by an enterprise.
In Hue City, Petrovietnam sponsored the construction of three STEM Labs at Hai Ba Trung High School, Nguyen Hue High School, and Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School, with a total funding of 11,5 billion VND. The three schools selected for this STEM Labs investment are all institutions with strong traditions, high prestige, and robust capacity for innovation, with a combined scale of more than 4.500 students and nearly 280 staff members and teachers.
In recent years, the Department of Education and Training has implemented STEM education in a synchronized, methodical manner and with increasing depth. To date, 172 schools from primary to upper secondary level across the city have implemented STEM education, with 1.285 student's scientific and technical projects. The commissioning of these three STEM Labs is a practical activity to implement central policies on breakthroughs in the development of education and training, science and technology, and innovation; gradually forming a modern learning environment that helps students develop scientific thinking, technological competence, teamwork skills, and the ability to solve real-world problems.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Tran Huu Thuy Giang emphasized that Hue City has always identified education as an important foundation for sustainable development, in which STEM education plays a key role in preparing high-quality human resources for the future. The Vice Chairman requested that the education and training sector continue to effectively integrate STEM education into the general education curriculum; strengthen professional development and training for teachers so they can master STEM teaching methods. Schools are set to maximize the effectiveness of STEM Labs, linking experiential activities with career orientation, science, and technology for students.
Within the framework of the program, Petrovietnam awarded 90 scholarships to students of Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School, Hai Ba Trung High School, and Nguyen Hue High School.
