The Hue City Youth and Children’s Creativity Contest is organized annually by the Union of Science and Technology Associations of the city in coordination with the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Hue City Youth Union.
This year’s contest features 297 projects selected from 39 wards and communes, high schools, vocational education and continuing education centers, and non-public educational institutions, competing at city level. The projects are divided into six fields: learning tools (98 projects, including 55 digital transformation applications); computer software (45 projects); environmentally friendly products (58 projects); household appliances and children’s toys (32 projects); and technical solutions for climate change adaptation, environmental protection, and economic development (64 projects).
These are outstanding projects, representing the research and creative achievements of youth and children across the city. Through their entries, participants demonstrate talent by applying knowledge learned in school, along with self-study and scientific research, to solve real-life problems. This further affirms the contest as an intellectual playground, playing an important role in promoting science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation.

After 19 editions from the grassroots to city level, the contest has introduced a new teaching approach that connects classroom learning with real-life practice through research and creative projects, helping students become familiar with scientific thinking and working methods. The contest also aims to select outstanding products and models to participate in the National Youth and Children’s Creativity Contest.
According to the Organizing Committee, the 19th edition has recorded breakthrough results in both the number of submissions and organizational work at ward and commune levels. This is the first year the contest was implemented after the nationwide transition to a two-tier local government model, with grassroots organizing responsibilities assigned to wards and communes. This transformation is not only an administrative change, but also an opportunity to further spread science, technology, and innovation activities more widely in the community.
