This activity was part of the program of Promoting Vietnamese localities in Australia in 2025, chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Attending the seminar were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Consul General of Vietnam in Sydney; Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski AM, former Australian Ambassador to Vietnam; along with over 120 leading Australian enterprises and corporations operating in the fields of construction, education, tourism, energy, technology, investment, and trade.
At the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee, introduced to businesses and investors the potential and investment opportunities in the city
Mr. Phuong affirmed the local government’s desire to expand cooperation with Australian investors and enterprises, particularly in areas such as infrastructure development for economic and industrial zones, new urban areas, supporting industries, electronics and semiconductor industries, biotechnology, high-tech agriculture, and logistics. Investment projects in Hue City will be entitled to the most preferential policies of the city and the Law on Investment of Vietnam, including commitments to provide infrastructure up to the boundary of project sites, as well as support in labor supply and training for local workers.
On behalf of the leaders of Hue City, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong conveyed the message that Hue City is always ready and warmly welcomes investors to the locality.
Also in the seminar, the Management Committee of the City’s Economic and Industrial Zones, Kim Long Motor Joint Stock Company, and Saigon Hue Investment Joint Stock Company provided detailed information about the investment environment and the infrastructure of key economic and industrial zones in Hue City, as well as sharing updates on the implementation of business investment projects in the locality.
The program also received various questions and exchanges from the leaders of Australian businesses, while Hue City’s promotional booth attracted many delegates coming for visiting and researching information.

As part of the working program, the delegation of Hue City’s leaders also held a meeting with Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Consul General of Vietnam in Sydney.
The Consul General of Vietnam in Sydney expressed strong agreement with the discussions and proposals made by Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee on strengthening cooperation between Hue City and Australian partners. He affirmed that the Consulate General would actively promote cooperation and investment between Australian localities within the consular region and Vietnamese localities in general, and with Hue City in particular. He also emphasized the Consulate General’s readiness to promote Hue City’s image, introduce its potential and advantages to businesses in Sydney and serve as a bridge connecting investors, organizations, and companies interested in exploring the market and moving towards investment cooperation with Hue City in the future.
Furthermore, in the framework of the working session in Sydney, on August 15, the delegation had a meeting with Mr. Robert Kok, Deputy Mayor of Sydney.
At the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their desire to expand friendly cooperative relations in various fields, based on the similarities in strengths between the two localities.
The Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee expressed his hope that in the coming time, Hue City and Sydney will strengthen delegation exchanges and implement cultural exchange activities, moving towards the signing of an agreement to establish friendly cooperative relations in the future. This would serve as a foundation for carrying out cooperation programs in the fields of mutual interest such as education and training, tourism promotion, heritage preservation, development, investment, trade, logistics, and people-to-people exchanges, etc.
