During the session, both sides discussed plans to invite Australian art troupes to participate in the 2025 Hue Festival and future festivals. This is not only to introduce Australian culture to the Vietnamese public but also to attract more Australian tourists to Hue.
Additionally, the discussion covered artist, expert, and student exchange programs, including heritage summer camps and architectural design competitions. These initiatives will foster learning, exchange, and greater awareness of heritage while also promoting tourism development linked to cultural conservation.
Heritage conservation and the promotion of cultural values were central topics of the session. The Australian Consul General and Hue Monuments Conservation Center explored opportunities for collaboration in research and technical support for preserving traditional architecture, particularly solutions for adapting to climate change. Both parties also considered applying new technologies in the restoration and conservation of Hue’s monuments while expanding connections with international academic forums and scientific conferences. These ideas will not only contribute to sustainable heritage conservation but also enhance the training quality of experts in the field.
Following the session, the delegation visited the art exhibition “Sky, Mountain, Water - Allusive Panorama” featuring the works of Emperor Ham Nghi at Kien Trung Palace. They also toured Long An Palace, the main exhibition space of Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities, where they learned about the museum’s history, the unique architecture of the palace from the reign of Emperor Thieu Tri, and the treasured artifacts of the Nguyen Dynasty still being preserved there.
The session not only marked a new chapter in the cooperation between Hue and Australia but also helped to spread the cultural heritage values of the Ancient Capital to the world, contributing to sustainable development.
