The 2026 ‘Women Entrepreneurs - Digital Transformation Journey’ competition was launched by Hue City Women’s Union under the ‘Supporting Women in Start-ups for 2026-2035’ project, with the aim of identifying and nurturing innovative start-up ideas, encouraging the application of digital technologies, and building connections to develop sustainable economic models.

Speaking at the opening of the final round, Ms. Duong Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City and Chairwoman of Hue City Women's Union, emphasized that the Prime Minister’s Project No. 2415 on ‘Supporting Women in Startups for 2026-2035’ and the ‘Ancient Capital Startup for 2026-2030’ project of Hue City People's Committee provide important orientations for Women's Union organizations at all levels to accompany and support women in digital transformation, start-ups and sustainable economic development.

This year’s competition continues to highlight the spirit of Hue women in daring to think, daring to act and proactively embracing innovation, contributing to promoting the role of women in economic development and adapting to the digital era.

The competition attracted 60 project applications in various fields, including agriculture, food, traditional handicrafts, community-based tourism and education.

Following the preliminary round, the Judging Panel selected the 15 most outstanding projects by individual authors and groups of authors to enter the Final Round. A breakthrough feature of this year’s competition was the comprehensive improvement in quality, with start-up activities closely linked to digital transformation and participating models required to step up the application of technology and e-commerce.

In particular, the projects are gradually bringing Hue’s signature products from physical spaces onto digital platforms, while harmoniously combining economic development and production and business activities with the preservation of cultural heritage values and environmental protection.

As part of the competition, Hue City Women’s Union organized a product showcase with 25 stalls, featuring more than 50 outstanding start-up products from contestants.

In addition, the Organizing Committee created a direct connection between contestants, Women’s Union members and women, and banks to provide advice on preferential credit packages to help women access capital for economic development. The initiative not only helps women promote their brands and expand their markets, but also provides an important impetus for Hue women to confidently develop sustainable businesses in the digital era.
