Tourism revenue during Binh Ngo Lunar New Year increased 350% year-on-year

HNN.VN - According to the information released by the Department of Tourism on February 22, during the 9-day Binh Ngo Lunar New Year holiday, the number of visitors to Hue increased sharply year-on-year. Especially, tourism revenue witnessed an increase of 350% compared to the previous year.

Particularly, over the 9-day period from February 14 to February 22, 2026 (from the 27th day of Lunar December of the Year of At Ty to the 6th day of Lunar January of the Year of Binh Ngo), the total number of visitors to Hue City was estimated at over 523,000 tourist arrivals, increasing 245% year-on-year (in which, the number of foreign visitors was estimated at over 249,260 arrival, up 219% year-on-year, while the number of domestic tourists reached over 274,370 arrivals, rising 273% year-on-year).

Tourism revenue was estimated at VND 1,121 billion, up 350% compared to the previous year. Overnight stays were estimated at 113,632 arrivals, witnessing an increase of 58% year-on-year (including over 54,190 foreign tourists, up 38% year-on-year; while the number of domestic visitors was estimated at nearly 59,440 arrivals, rising 81% compared with last year). The average accommodation occupancy was estimated at 78%.

On the final day of the Lunar New Year holiday (the 6th day of Tet, February 22, 2026), the total number of visitors to Hue was estimated at 39,690, including over 20,240 arrivals of foreign visitors, while the number of domestic visitors reached nearly 19,450. Tourism revenue was estimated at VND 83 billion. Overnight stays at tourism accommodation establishments were estimated at nearly 7,940 arrivals, including nearly 4,130 foreign tourists, and 3,810 domestic guests. Accommodation occupancy rate was estimated at 67%.
