The program was attended by leaders of various departments, agencies, and representatives of the Tourism Association of Thailand in Northeastern Thailand, together with 30 delegates from travel agencies, press and media agencies, as well as Thai Culinary Association, and over 30 tourism businesses across Hue City.

The program featured three main activities: a B2B networking session connecting businesses from Hue and Northeastern Thailand; a conference to promote and introduce Hue tourism; and a gala dinner.

The program’s highlight was the B2B networking session, which brought together tourism and service businesses from Hue and partners from Northeastern Thailand for direct exchanges. The session enabled both sides to showcase their products, update market insights, understand partner demands, exchange cooperation methods, and jointly develop interconnected tourism products and routes tailored to two-way traveler demands.

Through direct networking activities, Hue expressed its hope to expand its cooperation network with localities, associations, and businesses in Northeastern Thailand, while promoting two-way tourist exchanges and exploring solutions to improve transport connectivity, particularly air connections between Thailand and Hue.

As part of the program, from August 29 to September 1, 2026, the Department of Tourism is also hosting a famtrip for delegates from Northeastern Thailand to visit and explore Hue’s tourism

The famtrip group is currently visiting and experiencing a wide range of Hue’s signature destinations and tourism products, including Hue Imperial Citadel, the system of royal tombs and other relics within the Hue Complex of Monuments; traditional craft villages; onsen services; Tam Giang Lagoon; Hue-Singing; and entertainment and shopping experiences at AEON Mall Hue, as well as the city’s distinctive local cuisine. Notably, delegates are also attending the ‘Thai Cultural and Culinary Space in Hue’, which is taking place from August 28 to September 1, 2026, in Hue City.

With the message ‘Connecting Heritage, Shaping the Future: Hue - Northeastern Thailand’, the program not only goes beyond a conventional tourism promotion event, but also seeks to foster long-term partnerships, develop concrete joint tourism products, and achieve measurable two-way travel results. Through the program, Hue aims to further affirm its position as a distinctive heritage, cultural and culinary destination in Vietnam, while becoming an important bridge for tourism connectivity between Central Vietnam and Northeastern Thailand, ultimately strengthening the friendship and bilateral ties between both countries.
