Apart from road transport, the railway and aviation sectors have also simultaneously implemented a range of measures to accommodate residents and visitors returning home for Tet and traveling during the spring holiday.

Increased services for Tet

On the mornings of early February 2026, the festive atmosphere of Tet is already evident at the Southern Bus Terminal of Hue City. Groups of passengers carrying luggage and Tet gifts busily seek information, purchase tickets, and wait to board their buses. Despite higher passenger volumes than on normal days, services remain orderly and well organized.

Mr. Huy Anh, a native of Nghe An currently working in Hue, shared: “In previous years, as Tet approached, securing bus tickets was always a concern for me. Now there are many sleeper buses, and the booking system is very convenient. I already have a comfortable berth to travel home and reunite with my family.”

According to Hue Bus Station Joint Stock Company, during the peak period of Tet 2026 (Year of the Horse), total passenger volume is forecast to reach approximately 5,000-6,000 per day, an increase of 15-20 percent compared with the figure for Tet 2025. In response to rising demand, the company has proactively developed service plans and established a Steering Committee for Tet 2026 to respond promptly to any emerging situations.

Director of the Northern Bus Terminal Enterprise of Hue City Le Viet Hoai said: “Ticket sales have been strictly regulated from the very start of the Tet season. Under the requirements of Hue Bus Station Joint Stock Company, transport operators must publicly post ticket prices and route distances, strictly comply with registered fare plans, and are prohibited from arbitrarily increasing prices. Bus terminals have also intensified inspection and supervision of ticket sales within their management scope, as well as organized continuous ticket sales from 4:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily throughout the Tet season. Fully informing passengers of schedules and fares, especially the last departures before Tet, is a mandatory requirement for transport companies.”

In addition to road transport, the railway sector has also proactively increased capacity to serve passengers during Tet. According to Head of Hue Railway Station Tran Danh Van, from February 3rd to March 8th, 2026, the station handles 42 train services per day and night, including 12 additional trains to meet travel demand for the Tet 2026 (Year of the Horse).

“The railway sector advises passengers not to buy tickets through intermediaries or individuals advertising on social media to avoid counterfeit tickets. Instead, passengers should purchase tickets through official channels such as the railway’s website, reputable ticketing applications, or directly at stations. Families with young children are advised to choose sleeper berths for comfort, while short-distance travelers may opt for soft seats to save costs. Students should carry valid student ID cards to benefit from fare discounts in accordance with regulations,” noted Mr. Tran Danh Van.

At Phu Bai International Airport, preparations for Tet travel have also been made early. Deputy Director of Phu Bai International Airport Do Anh Dao said: “Ahead of each peak period such as Tet, we always develop detailed plans to ensure absolute security and safety while improving service quality. Passengers are advised to proactively check flight information in advance, arrive at the airport early according to the prescribed time frames, and strictly follow airline staff instructions during check-in and boarding procedures.”

Ensuring order and traffic safety

Recognizing traffic safety as a key factor during Tet , Hue Bus Station Joint Stock Company strictly fulfills its responsibilities as a terminal management unit in accordance with the law. Leaders and functional forces are arranged to be on duty 24/7 throughout the peak period.

“In addition to complying with road traffic safety regulations, bus terminals focus on checking vehicles’ technical safety conditions before departure and strictly controlling drivers and assistants to ensure they meet all requirements. Vehicles that do not meet technical safety standards, carry passengers beyond capacity, or fail to comply with transport orders will be firmly barred from departing,” affirmed General Director of Hue Bus Station Joint Stock Company Pham Xuan Son.

To ensure passenger and vehicle safety, bus terminals across Hue City, Hue Railway Station, and Phu Bai International Airport regularly coordinate with Hue City Police and local authorities to maintain public order and prevent fires and explosions. Traffic police and public order police have been mobilized to intensify inspections of compliance with traffic safety regulations.

Violations such as overloading, passenger transfer between vehicles, operating on incorrect routes, and picking up or dropping off passengers at unauthorized locations are promptly detected and handled. Vehicles lacking proper documentation or carrying passengers beyond regulated capacity are not permitted to complete departure procedures. Security and safety at airport and railway station areas have also been strengthened.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Cong Tuan, Deputy Head of the Immigration Management Division under Hue City Police and head of the police unit at Phu Bai International Airport border gate, stated: “We always coordinate closely with relevant units to ensure absolute security and order at the airport. Simultaneously, public awareness campaigns on aviation security and safety are also being intensified, alongside rapid response to any incidents that may arise.

With comprehensive and proactive preparations by the transport sector, combined with close coordination among functional forces, Hue City is striving to create the most favorable conditions for residents and visitors to enjoy safe and smooth journeys during the Tet 2026.
