During this year’s National Day holiday, from August 29 to September 2, Hue City was estimated to welcome over 651,000 tourist arrivals, up about 231% year on year.

Recent culinary events and festivals in Hue have emerged as popular gathering points, drawing crowds of visitors from near and far. However, what truly retains them is not merely the flavors or the festive atmosphere, but the live performances and the narratives behind each dish, offering tourists deeper insights into the history, culture, and people of Hue.

This year’s National Day vacation (September 2nd) is again bringing a surge of tourists to Hue. Alongside careful facility preparation, many accommodation businesses in the city have proactively refreshed their services, paying attention to even small details in the guest experience to give visitors a joyful, comfortable holiday.

On the evening of August 30, the Department of Tourism held a tourism promotion and introduction program titled ‘Connecting Heritage, Shaping the Future: Hue - Northeastern Thailand’.

On the morning of August 28, Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR), in collaboration with Quang Tri Province People’s Committee and Hue People’s Committee, officially launched the ‘Phong Nha - Hue Imperial City: A World Heritage Journey’ tourist train at Dong Hoi Railway Station. Later that day, Hue City welcomed the train and held a ceremony to mark its arrival.

As the five-day National Day holiday approaches, featuring a vibrant lineup of cultural, artistic, sports, and experiential activities, Hue is expected to welcome over 500,000 tourist arrivals.

Rather than focusing on sheer visitor numbers, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center is shifting its service strategy at the Imperial City and other heritage sites toward product selectivity and enhanced visitor experiences, to attract high-spending tourists.

According to the information released by the Department of Tourism on the morning of August 20, based on survey data, the number of tourists to Hue during this year’s National Day holiday (September 2) is expected to keep on rising year-on-year, reaching an estimated 535,000 arrivals.

By hosting the Hue Heritage and International Music Festival 2026 - Hue Wonderverse Music Fest 2026, which is scheduled from August 30 to September 1, alongside the National Day Holiday on September 2, Hue City is expected to witness a surge in tourist arrivals. This may lead to a local ‘fully booked’ situation at certain peak times. Drawing from the experience of the last April 30 - May 1 holiday, the local tourism sector is developing plans to enhance its reception capacity and service quality.

After 4 days of taking place from July 23 to 26, the program Hue - Culinary Capital 2026, which was held under the theme ‘The Day of Hue Beef Noodle’, attracted about 48,000 tourist arrivals and generated an estimated revenue of about 12 billion VND.

After the heavy rains and floods in October and November, Hue Traditional Craft Exhibition and Experience Space, which is located at No. 15 Le Loi Street, has recently carried out decoration and renovation activities to refresh the destination. Many new products and presentations on traditional crafts have been prepared to introduce to visitors.

Hai Van Frontier Post officially opened for visitors from August 1st, 2024. Up to now, it has become an important destination for visitors visiting Hue and Da Nang.

In line with the National Tourism Year, Thuan Hoa district has been carrying out various solutions to attract tourists to visit and stay in the locality.

The railway line connecting Hue to Da Nang via the Hai Van Pass spans approximately 100 kilometers and is considered one of the most beautiful railway routes in the country.

The scene of pomelo trees laden with fruits, with the yellow-ripened pomelos dangling on the branches, attracts a great number of tourists coming to check-in and pose for photos.

The first international flight of the year 2024 just landed at Phu Bai International Airport on January 10th, carrying 226 Korean passengers who have come to visit and experience Hue.
