The World Heritage Journey tourist train covers a distance of approximately 190 kilometers, directly connecting two of Central Vietnam’s leading tourism hubs, both home to UNESCO-recognized heritage sites. The route also passes through heritage destinations closely associated with the nation’s heroic history. All stops along the route serve as gateways to well-known tourist attractions, including Hue Complex of Monuments, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, Vinh Moc Tunnels, Hien Luong - Ben Hai historical site, Dong Hoi, and Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.
The train has eight carriages, five of which feature reversible seats, giving passengers greater flexibility while taking in the picturesque landscapes of Central Vietnam through the windows. The VIP carriage boasts a sophisticated and luxurious interior, with 24 seats designed to ensure privacy. Complimentary snacks and beverages are available to passengers.

The community carriage is designed for traditional music performances, local cuisine experiences, and stalls showcasing regional specialties meeting the OCOP standards. For the first time, Vietnam Railways has also introduced a multifunctional entertainment carriage, giving passengers the chance to watch movies, unwind in massage chairs, rent ao-dai for check-in activities, or have high-end suits tailored and delivered on the spot.
To mark the launch, Vietnam’s railway sector is rolling out a major promotional program alongside a series of unique experiential activities. In particular, during the launch week through September 5, 2026, passengers can enjoy discounts of up to 50% on all ticket classes for the HQ1/HQ2 service trains and have a chance to receive meaningful souvenirs.
