Promoting New Tours
With the September 2 holiday offering a prime opportunity to attract visitors, the City Community Tourism Sub-association, Hue Tourism College, and localities across the city have prepared a variety of tourism products and tour itineraries for the occasion.
Mr. Vu Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the City Travel Association, Chairman of the City Community Tourism Sub-association, Director of Tu Hao Viet Nam Co., Ltd, noted: “Alongside heritage tours, various community-based tourism activities will be promoted in A Luoi, Khe Tre, and Quang Dien Communes, as well as tours exploring Ru Cha Mangrove Forest (Hoa Chau Ward). To cater to visitors’ travel demand, travel agencies have also offered numerous options for the National Day Holiday, from two-day, one-night tours to full-day or half-day experiences.”
During this year’s September 2 holiday, Hue City will host a diverse lineup of attractive cultural, artistic, sports, festivals, and hands-on activities. These events are also being introduced to tourists and incorporated into tour initiatives, thereby giving them more options during their trips.
Alongside visitors booking tours through travel agencies, a significant number of independent travelers are expected to visit Hue. According to Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Tram, Director of the Department of Tourism, the extended holiday, coupled with a wide range of attractive activities taking place across the city, is expected to drive a significant increase in visitor numbers. Based on accommodation bookings, service registrations and other relevant data, Hue is projected to welcome around 535,000 visitors during the September 2, 2026 holiday, including approximately 125,000 overnight guests.
Accommodation booking data shows that visitor numbers are expected to peak during the first few days of the holiday, particularly from August 29 to 31. The number of visitors is likely to ease over the following two days as many families leave Hue to prepare for the new school year and take time to rest before returning to work. As a result, occupancy rates are expected to vary throughout the holiday. During the peak period from August 29 to 31, many accommodation facilities are forecast to reach occupancy rates of around 95%, with some likely to be fully booked. Overall, average hotel occupancy across the city is expected to stand at around 80% for the entire holiday.

To proactively meet the travel, sightseeing, and leisure needs of locals and visitors during the National Day holiday, particular attention is being paid to ensuring safety.
Director Tran Thi Hoai Tram said that the Department of Tourism will collaborate with the city’s inter-agency inspection team to step up inspections and oversight of tourism service businesses, particularly accommodation facilities. The inspections will focus on compliance with accommodation regulations. Key areas include transparent price listing, guest registration under the Residence Law, fire safety, public order and security, as well as maintaining facility standards and service quality for tourists…
According to Ms. Tram, the tourism hotline (0234.3828288) will be staffed around the clock throughout the holiday to promptly receive and address visitors’ feedback and requests, particularly those concerning service quality, prices, accommodation, and any arising issues.
Mr. Nguyen Van Lan, Director of Thuy Xuan Ward Public Service Center, informed that the ward is home to several popular tourist attractions, heritage sites, and craft villages, including Thuy Xuan Incense Village, which often draws large crowds of visitors. Based on experience from previous September 2 holidays and other extended holiday periods, the center is coordinating with the ward police to maintain increased patrols and inspections throughout the holiday. Businesses will be reminded to display prices clearly and charge accordingly. Authorities will respond promptly to any complaints to safeguard Hue’s image as a tourist destination.
Meanwhile, Ms. Hoang Thi Nhu Thanh, Chairman of An Cuu Ward People’s Committee, noted that with a large influx of visitors expected in Hue during the holiday, the ward police are coordinating with relevant agencies to make plans and response scenarios to ensure security and public order. Fire prevention and firefighting requirements are also being incorporated into these preparations.
To handle the expected surge in visitors and pressure on accommodation capacity, Ms. Tram stated that Hue's tourism sector is proactively monitoring market trends, occupancy rates, and service capacity. This allows for timely support and effective crowd management, preventing localized overcrowding and protecting tourists’ rights.
