HNN.VN - According to the information released by the Department of Tourism on the morning of August 20, based on survey data, the number of tourists to Hue during this year’s National Day holiday (September 2) is expected to keep on rising year-on-year, reaching an estimated 535,000 arrivals.

Visitor sources for sightseeing and local experiences during the National Day Holiday are projected to be highly diverse

According to Director of the Department of Tourism Tran Thi Hoai Tram, the number of visitors to Hue during the National Day Holiday continues to rise year-on-year. This forecast is driven by several favorable conditions, including the extended holiday (from August 28 to September 2), the higher travel demand, and particularly the city’s organization of cultural, artistic, sports, festive activities, and experiential programs.

The total number of tourists to Hue City during this holiday is expected to reach about 535,000 arrivals, witnessing an increase of 173% compared to 2025. Revenue from tourism services is projected at VND 668 billion, up 116% year-on-year. Of these, overnight tourists are estimated at about 125,000 arrivals, up about 36%; while the number of international visitors is projected to reach about 21% compared to 2025.

Average room occupancy at accommodation facilities is estimated to reach about 80%. Especially, during peak days from August 29, August 30, to August 31, many facilities can reach 95% of their occupancy, while some others can be fully booked.

In anticipation of the expected rise in visitor numbers, the city’s tourism sector has proactively monitored market conditions, tracked room occupancy and service capacity to provide timely support, manage tourist flow, prevent localized overcrowding, and protect tourists’ rights.

Tourism leaders stated that to proactively meet the travel, sightseeing, and leisure needs of locals and visitors during the National Day holiday, the Department of Tourism issued early guidelines, urging local tourism businesses and accommodation providers to thoroughly prepare their facilities and services.

Accordingly, accommodation facilities have been asked to proactively develop guest reception and service plans, ensuring adequate staffing, facilities, equipment, and necessary resources, particularly during peak days. They must conduct regular inspections to guarantee room quality, environmental hygiene, food safety, utility systems, fire safety, and other security measures. The facilities are also strictly required to display prices publicly and charge accordingly, say no to unauthorized price increases, overcharging, or any practices that could compromise tourists’ rights and the image of Hue as a destination.

In addition, tourism service providers must fully comply with guest registration regulations and step up coordination with local authorities and relevant agencies to ensure security, order, and visitor safety.

In particular, businesses are encouraged to enhance the provision of information and guidance for tourists regarding sightseeing destinations, tourism products, cultural and artistic programs, cuisine, and Hue’s signature experiences. This is expected to prolong tourists’ stay, increase spending, and deliver smooth, safe, and high-quality experiences for tourists coming to Hue.
