“Vang son ky my – the essence of Vietnamese craftsmanship” is something that photographer Nguyen Phong is particularly passionate about as he introduced to Thua Thien Hue Weekly a series of photos showcasing “the golden hands” of artisans perfecting the process of applying gold leaf and lacquer to the columns of Thai Hoa Palace.

On the morning of September 27th, FAHASA Company held the grand opening ceremony of FAHASA Hue Bookstore at Aeon Mall Hue, located at 8 Vo Nguyen Giap Street, An Dong Ward, Hue City. This is the second FAHASA bookstore in Hue and one of the largest bookstores in the FAHASA system nationwide.

“Coloring heritage” and “Hue Art Memory Game” featuring traditional Vietnamese motifs from the Nguyen Dynasty are part of the “Heritage education” program for 2024, jointly organized by Hue Monuments Conservation Center and GEKE (German society for the Preservation of cultural heritage). The program is held at Phung Tien Temple in Hue Imperial Citadel and is entirely free for children.

For decades, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Lien Dai (Hue City) has worked with the Disable People’s Association – the Provincial Association in Support of Handicapped and Orphans to spread love and cherish to thousands of less fortunate lives.

He is an elderly man who is 106 years old, still living in Hue. It is extremely rare for a witness of the abdication of the last emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty 79 years ago to still be alive today. Not only that, he also participated in photographing Emperor Bao Dai.

In an effort to collect and duplicate documents for the work of relic renovation and preservation, Hue Monuments Conservation Center has sent its staff to the Overseas National Archives (ANOM) in the city of Aix en Provence and the École Française d'Extrême-Orient (EFEO) in Paris to access the source of documents related to the Nguyen Dynasty.

On the afternoon of September 4th, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, held a meeting with the leaders of Viet Personal Mobility Co., Ltd. (PM). The discussion centered on green transportation and the "Clean & Green Smart Hue City" project.

An Lang (An Mausoleum), the shared mausoleum of three regal generations of the Nguyen Dynasty, including Emperor Duc Duc (the father), Emperor Thanh Thai (the son), and Emperor Duy Tan (the grandson), is located on Duy Tan Street, An Cuu Ward, Hue City.

Invited to participate in the 2024 World Grand Prix Model Competition in Korea by the Korean Institute of Traditional Culture & ORIHERI, four representatives from Hue, among many from Vietnam, achieved significant awards, with Nguyen Ngoc Phon honored with the First prize.
