This event carries an essential cultural diplomatic significance, affirming the strong friendship between Vietnam and South Korea, while also demonstrating Hue’s determination to expand international exchange and cooperation, solidifying its position as a cultural and tourism hub of the country. As a bridge, Hue not only promotes Vietnamese heritage and identity but also creates an environment that connects, educates, and shares distinctive cultural values between the communities of both countries.

As part of the event, around 100 booths will be set up to showcase the culture, tourism, cuisine, and unique products of both countries. Visitors can experience wearing hanbok, participate in traditional Korean games, enjoy traditional cuisine, and explore and admire handicrafts, OCOP products, Hue’s ao dai, and traditional craft villages. This is an opportunity for the long-standing cultural values of Vietnam and South Korea to shine together, creating a strong attraction for both domestic and international visitors.

The event’s highlight is a series of vibrant and culturally rich art exchange programs. The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy Hue Court Music, an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, along with many traditional Korean art performances (Gugak), blended with the youthful and modern atmosphere of K-pop, V-pop, and Random Dance. The participation of the Uhee art troupe (South Korea) and Vietnamese artists and artisans promises to create a space that combines traditional elements with the global trend.

The opening ceremony will take place at 19:00 on September 27. The program includes a welcome performance, speeches, the presentation of flowers and souvenirs, and a Vietnam – Korea culture exchange performance, kicking off a diverse and attractive series of activities throughout the two-day event.

Vietnam-South Korea Cultural Day 2025 is not only a cultural and artistic event but also a people-to-people diplomacy event with a wide-reaching impact. This is an opportunity for Hue to express its aspirations for integration, affirming its new position as a centrally governed municipality, while also laying the foundation for practical cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, commerce, and the creative industry.

Preserving the Memories of a Land

Every land has memories of its own. Some memories are preserved in history books, stone steles, communal houses, pagodas, and temples. Others, however, remain in the most ordinary forms - in the name of a village, a small hamlet, a riverside wharf, or a field.
