Hue City People’s Committee works with Acecook Vietnam JSC

A representative of Acecook Vietnam JSC said that since July 2009, the company has launched Hang Nga Noodle Soup brand with a variety of regionally inspired flavors; most notably is Hang Nga Noodle Soup - Hue Beef Noodle Soup Flavor.

On June 27th, 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 2203/QĐ-BVHTTDL recognizing “Traditional Knowledge of Bun Bo Hue (Hue Beef Noodle Soup)” as part of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Following this milestone, Acecook has placed particular emphasis on production and business activities related to the Hang Nga Noodle Soup - Hue Beef Noodle Soup Flavor brand, ensuring compliance with intellectual property regulations, certification trademarks, and product origin.

Acecook requested that Hue City People’s Committee consider granting permission (or issuing a written endorsement) for the company to use the name Hue Beef Noodle Soup on its products. The company expressed its readiness to sign agreements or fulfill conditions set by Hue City People’s Committee to guarantee that the use of the name adheres to standards of quality, flavor, and transparency. The company also expressed its desire to share its strategy and plans to position the product as a channel for promoting Hue’s culinary culture to domestic and international consumers, while also linking with local tourism development.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh stressed that Hue Beef Noodle Soup embodies the essence of the ancient capital cuisine, carrying both cultural value and significant economic - tourism potential.

He further stated: “Hue is gradually affirming its position as the Culinary Capital of Vietnam, aiming to become a distinctive destination within UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network. We want traditional dishes, especially Hue Beef Noodle Soup, to be not only preserved but also elevated as a brand, spreading widely to visitors at home and abroad. The city will accompany businesses in promotional programs and in linking cuisine with tourism, in order to create a complete experience for visitors to Hue”.
