Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Xuan, Vice President of Vietnam Young Physicians Association and Deputy Director of HCH, expressed his emotion at being able to accompany local residents during this difficult period. He emphasized that this medical outreach program not only provides medicine and healthcare services but also serves as a “mental remedy” - an expression of the physicians’ compassion and responsibility. Leaders of HCH affirmed that they will continue expanding volunteer activities and community healthcare initiatives in the future.
With 36 medical staff participating in the program, 1.000 residents have been provided with examinations and consultations across various services: general internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, otorhinolaryngology, dermatology, ophthalmology, as well as ultrasound scans, electrocardiograms, blood pressure measurements, and more. Residents were also guided on post-flood health care, prevention of infectious diseases, and common conditions such as respiratory, digestive, and dermatological illnesses. The delegation also donated medical supplies and essential goods to the Phu Loc Medical Center, as well as visited households heavily affected by the floods to offer support and relief gifts.
This year, the program also featured a special highlight with the presentation of a “Compassion House” to a disadvantaged family in Hung Loc Commune. This initiative is part of a series of social welfare programs launched by Vietnam Young Physicians Association and HCH, reflecting a spirit of solidarity and helping residents secure stable housing to overcome hardships after the natural disaster.
For many years, young physicians at HCH have been not only pioneers in their professional fields but also ardour in volunteer work, disease prevention efforts, blood donation, and community support, helping spread meaningful values for public health.
