During her trip to Hue, Ms. Sandrine, a French tourist, and her group were amazed by how green the city was. With admiration, she asked: “What has enabled Hue to balance economic development with heritage and natural resource preservation?”

From May 4 to 13, Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) is coordinating with the People's Committee of Hue City, Tourism Development Support Fund, Vietnam Airlines, and partners to organize a program introducing Vietnamese tourism, traditional craft villages, and cuisine, and connecting businesses on the occasion of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 in three European countries, including Italy, Switzerland, and France.

On the afternoon of May 4th, Department of Tourism reported that the total number of visitors to Hue City during the April 30th - May 1st holiday saw a sharp increase, estimated at 351.000 arrivals over the 5-day period from April 30th to May 4th.

During the April 30 - May 1 holiday this year, Hue emerged as a popular destination. Alongside tour groups organized by travel agencies, a significant number of tourists opted for self-guided tours, renting cars or driving themselves to key attractions in the city.

Ngu My Thanh, a long-standing fishing village by Tam Giang lagoon (Quang Loi, Quang Dien, Hue City) has become well-known in the tourism community of the Ancient Capital, and it is recognized by the People’s Committee of Hue City as a community-based tourism destination.

Although she has chosen a reclusive life on the edge of Thien An forest (Hue City), just as the saying goes, “good wine needs no bush,” many international tourists visiting Hue have asked travel companies to take them to meet People’s Artisan Hoang Thi Nhu Huy so that they can converse with her and gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture.

On the morning of April 19, a special event titled “Hue - Pioneer in Green Heritage Tourism Development and Bicycle City" took place at the Noon Gate Square - Hue Imperial Citadel. The event was jointly organized by Hue Monuments Conservation Center, Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC), and representatives of the GCOO brand in Vietnam – VietPM.

On April 19th, a special event titled “Hue – Developing green heritage tourism and a bicycle city” will take place at Ngo Mon Square – Hue Imperial Citadel. The event is jointly organized by Hue Monuments Conservation Center, VietPM (representative of GCOO brand in Vietnam), and Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC).

The 3rd Vietnam International Photography Festival 2025 will be held in Hue City. This information was recently announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

As part of the World EXPO 2025 held in Osaka, Kansai (Japan), Hue City Department of Culture and Sports introduced the culture and history of Hue Ancient Capital to the world. Especially this year, Hue City is hosting Vietnam’s National Tourism Year 2025.
