The Department of Tourism and travel agencies surveyed rural tourism destinations and products

According to the local tourism sector, Hue City is known not only as an ancient capital rich in historical and cultural values, but also as a space that brings together many unique potentials for developing rural tourism and community-based tourism linked to ecology and local identity.

In recent years, rural tourism in Hue has seen positive transformations, with many community tourism models established and operated effectively. However, rural tourism in Hue still faces several difficulties and challenges. Community participation remains limited in terms of professionalism, organizational skills, and foreign language proficiency; and the link between culture and tourism development has not yet been truly effective. Besides, promotional activities are infrequent, and the scale of current models remains small and fragmented, lacking regional linkages, etc.

The unique characteristics of craft villages provide a favorable factor for rural tourism development

At the conference, experts, businesses, and the community exchanged experiences, proposed solutions, and strengthened connections in promoting rural tourism.

According to representatives from the units, it is necessary to review and evaluate resource values, current status, and the development potential of key agricultural products to create signature rural tourism destinations. There is also a need for investment in infrastructure and the management of regional agricultural product branding associated with rural tourism.

Additionally, support is needed for training human resources, skills, as well as a friendly and professional service attitude; and preserving, restoring, and developing some traditional agricultural production activities and craft villages to provide visitors with sightseeing and experiences.
