Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital announced on August 17th that, as part of its international cooperation activities, the university had partnered with the US-based Operation International (OI) and DCA to provide free screening and surgery for patients with cleft lip and palate.

On June 19, 2026, the Deputy Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1096/QD-TTg approving a project of developing Hue University of Medicine & Pharmacy Hospital to meet the standards of leading hospitals in Southeast Asia and heading towards the goal of reaching international standards.

Hue City's implementation of the project to develop Hue Central Hospital and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital into international-standard, high-tech medical centers not only opens up a new chapter of development for the two leading medical facilities but also elevates Hue's healthcare sector in the new era.

On July 20, Hue Central Hospital hosted the 7th Imperial City Eye Meeting 2026 (ICEM 2026) under the theme “From Fundamentals to Challenges in Surgery.” Taking place from July 20 - 22, the event brings together over 200 ophthalmologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals from Vietnam and abroad to discuss the latest advances in ophthalmology, strengthen international collaboration, and enhance the quality of eye care services for the public.

On the afternoon of July 8th, at Co Mat Vien - Tam Toa, Hue Festival 2026 Organizing Committee officially launched the photography contest ‘Hue - Ancient Capital, New Experiences’. The competition is part of Hue Festival 2026 and aims to promote Hue as a city of heritage, culture, ecology, scenic beauty, and hospitality to both domestic and international audiences.

On the afternoon of June 30, Hue Monuments Conservation Center and Hue International General Hospital signed a strategic cooperation agreement. On the same occasion, the hospital announced a VND 300 million sponsorship for the “Hue - Ancient Capital, New Experiences” Photography Contest, one of the activities within Hue Festival 2026.

From June 12 to 19, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital collaborated with Surgical Volunteers International (SVI) of the United States to carry out a humanitarian surgery program for children and adolescents suffering from congenital deformities, as well as burn and trauma-related disabilities.

On June 11th, Hue Odonto-Stomatology Hospital, in collaboration with ReSurge International, completed a program providing surgery for maxillofacial deformities, cleft lip and palate, and craniofacial abnormalities, combined with professional training for doctors at the hospital’s Department of Plastic, Aesthetic and Maxillofacial Surgery.

As part of its international cooperation program, Hue Central Hospital welcomed and worked with a delegation of South Korean partners from June 8th to 10th, 2026, to expand cooperation in healthcare, research and development (R&D), technology transfer, and the development of specialized medical services in Hue City.

On the morning of June 5th, Hue Central Hospital hosted an International Scientific Conference between Hue Central Hospital and Taichung General Hospital (Taiwan - China) with the participation of numerous leading domestic and international experts, professors, and physicians.
