Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Bui Bao Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Council of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University - delivered a message to the “Green Summer” volunteers: “The ‘Green Summer’ volunteer campaign is a vivid testament to the sense of responsibility, dedication, and noble ideals of the youth at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University. Our students not only carry with them professional knowledge, but also compassion, a spirit of learning, sharing, and solidarity. The real-life experiences in remote and disadvantaged areas will help you grow, strengthen your love for the profession, and fuel your aspiration to serve the community with both intellect and heart”.
According to the plan, the Youth Union and Student Association of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, will organize this year’s “Green Summer” volunteer campaign with a total of 16 themed activities, including: 8 health check-up initiatives, 4 activities focused on mutual support and compassion, and 4 youth skill-building programs in A Luoi 1 commune. Additionally, there will be 2 major programs and 2 volunteer activity series taking place within Hue City.
From July 12 to 15, over 50 volunteer students, along with medical staff from the university will be present in A Luoi 1 commune. As part of the 2025 “Green Summer” volunteer campaign, the volunteer team from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University will provide free health check-ups and medicine to the elderly and families under a preferential policy. The program will include comprehensive medical examinations and consultations across multiple specialties: internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, ophthalmology, as well as paraclinical tests such as ultrasound, blood sugar testing, electrocardiograms, and chest X-rays.
The program also offers consultations on diet, nutrition, and appropriate exercise routines; distributes informational leaflets; conducts clean-up activities to prevent dengue fever; provides reproductive health counseling; and offers guidance on growing and using traditional medicinal herbs.
