| Students visiting the exhibition space |
This program was held by Ho Chi Minh Museum of Hue City on the afternoon of December 9.
The students began by taking part in a flower-offering ceremony honoring President Ho Chi Minh, followed by a visit to the Museum’s displays and the special exhibition “Hue City and the Promotion of Family Culture”. They also joined the storytelling contest “We Tell Stories about Uncle Ho”, the drawing contest “Uncle Ho with Children and Vietnamese Families”, as well as a variety of creative, hands-on activities held at the space of Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City.
Ms. Nguyen Hong Hanh, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City, shared that Uncle Ho was born into a scholarly family with a rich cultural and moral tradition. It was within this home that he absorbed the values of ethics, benevolence, and deep familial love. He once reminded people: “The nucleus of society is the family”. This simple yet profound statement reflects a timeless truth: A good family forms the foundation of a good society, and every child who is cared for and loved in the right way will grow into a useful citizen for the nation.
And for children - the “buds on the branch” - Uncle Ho always reserved his deepest affection. He believed that families and schools must work hand in hand, supporting and connecting with one another to help children grow up healthy, well-behaved, and become individuals of strong character and ambition.
Therefore, every activity in the program carried its own message, yet all share the same purpose: to help students gain a deeper understanding of Uncle Ho’s life, his exemplary character, and his boundless love for the people. At the same time, the program was also held to inspire in them a sense of pride, gratitude, and responsibility in preserving the cultural values of the Vietnamese family.
“We believe that through today’s journey, the students will learn to love their families more deeply, show respect and gratitude to their grandparents and parents, appreciate their teachers, and live with kindness, solidarity, and diligence, just as Uncle Ho taught,” said Ms. Hanh.
