Awarding 40 prizes at Hue City Technical Innovation Contest 2025

HNN.VN - On the evening of November 21, the city’s Union of Science and Technology Associations, in coordination with the Department of Science & Technology, Hue University, the Labor Federation, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and other related units, organized the closing ceremony and award presentation for the 15th Hue City Technical Innovation Contest 2025.

 Hue City leaders awarding first prizes to the authors and groups of authors

Hue City Technical Innovation Contest 2025 received 106 entries across 6 fields, including information technology, electronics and telecommunications; mechanics, automation, construction, transportation; materials, chemicals, energy; agriculture-forestry-fishery, natural resources, and environment; medicine and pharmacy; and, education and training. With diverse fields and topics, this year’s entries not only demonstrate high creativity but also make practical contributions to the city’s economic, social, healthcare, educational, and environmental development.

Based on the evaluation results of the judging councils, the Organizing Committee submitted the list to the City People’s Committee for approval and decided to award 40 outstanding projects, including 6 First Prizes, 8 Second Prizes, 10 Third Prizes, and 16 Consolation Prizes. Notable high-ranking projects include: “Applying AI to enhance the effectiveness of document management and administration in the two-tier government model”; “Research and propose solutions for developing Gia Hoi ancient quarter into a signature commercial and tourism street of Hue City”; “Manufacturing construction materials capable of absorbing CO2 from fly ash; and,  from coconut fiber”; “Research on producing microbial preparations with high enzyme activity from indigenous microorganisms and applying them to prevent wilt disease in peanuts”; “Breakthroughs in diagnosing and treating male infertility: Sperm DNA fragmentation and seminal stress oxidation techniques”; and “Developing educational learning materials from Hue’s folk literary heritage for teaching at the primary level”…

Speaking at the closing and award ceremony, Mr. Ho Dac Thai Hoang, Chairman of the City’s Union of Science and Technology Associations, emphasized that after 15 editions, the contest has strongly promoted the movement of scientific and technological research and innovation across the city, making it increasingly large-scale and effective. The participating projects demonstrated high scientific value, with many showcasing novelty, creativity, practical applicability, and real effectiveness in production and daily life. These contributions have helped encourage and motivate both professional and non-professional researchers in their scientific and technological innovation efforts.

The contest has also contributed to addressing urgent real-world needs, affirming the talent and continuous creativity of the scientific community living and working in Hue. Through its activities, the contest has highlighted the pivotal role of scientists in creating breakthroughs that help the country achieve strong, transformative development in the new era, in accordance with the spirit of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.

Based on this year’s results, the Organizing Committee recommended that the City’s Labor Federation, Hue University Trade Union, and Hue Central Hospital Trade Union guide and prepare the application dossiers for submission to Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for consideration of awarding Creative Labor Certificates to the principal investigators of projects winning First, Second, and Third Prizes.

At the same time, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the city is also requested to guide the application process for the Central Youth Union to award the Creative Youth Badge to youth members with First Prize-winning projects.

Furthermore, the Organizing Committee has nominated 13 scientific research projects to participate in the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Awards 2024, and 19 projects to participate in the 18th National Technical Innovation Contest (2024-2025).
