The event attracted over 3,000 attendees, including representatives from 50 schools, teachers, students, and parents. This marked the first time in Hue that a large-scale, open, inter-school education and technology event was held, creating a platform for educational communities to connect, exchange emerging trends, and foster innovation in general education.

Open STEM Day 2026 was designed as a comprehensive education-technology experiential ecosystem, featuring a range of highlights, including the STEMPETITION Grand Final, where students showcased innovative AI-based products and solutions aiming at community needs and sustainable development. The event also hosted the AI-Robotics FanRoc challenge, organized in a Hackathon format to foster critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills under time constraints.

Notably, a large number of students took part in hands-on experiences at nearly 20 STEM, AI, and robotics booths, where participants could directly engage with technology, applied science, and creativity. The seminar “Teaching and Learning in the AI Era - Supporting Students for Sustainable Development” offered in-depth insights for teachers, parents, and students into the role of technology in education.

Addressing the event, Mr. Nguyen Mau Nhat Khanh - Director of FPT Primary, Secondary, and High school, affirmed that Open STEM Day went beyond a hands-on experience, serving as a clear educational statement of FPT School Hue in the digital age. “Here, students not only ‘learn about’ the future, they are to build it. We create an open space for creativity and exploration, and unlimited capacities, where learning comes from experience, trial and error, and continuous growth alongside technology”, he said.

According to Mr. Nguyen Mau Nhat Khanh, the organization of the Open STEM Day reflects FPT School Hue’s long-term commitment to supporting local education, implementing education models that align training with practical demands, in line with the spirit of Resolution 57 and the orientation toward developing a high-quality workforce for Hue in the future.

On the same day, Hai Ba Trung High School also inaugurated a STEM education practice room and launched its STEM Club. This marked a significant milestone in advancing educational innovation and modernization, enabling students to gain hands-on access to advanced science and technology.

Hai Ba Trung High School is one of three schools funded by Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group (Petrovietnam) to develop a STEM education practice room under Petrovietnam STEM Innovation Program.

This is not merely a classroom but a modern creative space equipped with a comprehensive and advanced system of facilities. From programming toolkits and engineering models to high-tech devices, … all have been systematically invested in with an aim of allowing students to turn their creative ideas into reality.

Hai Ba Trung High School is among the city’s leading institutions in academic excellence and scientific research, having established a dedicated STEM team, standardized STEM themes through a five-step process, and achieved outstanding results in competitions such as Robocon, Young Informatics, the World Scholar’s Cup, and SEAMEO–Japan ESD. As a result, the school was selected for investment in a modern, standard-compliant STEM facility. This represents both an honor and a source of pride, as well as a significant responsibility for the school’s teachers and students to pioneer innovative teaching and learning approaches and enhance the overall quality of education.

According to Principal Le Trieu Son, with the support of a core team of well-trained teachers, the school is committed to maximizing the effective use of its modern facilities. The STEM Club launched today will serve as the “heart” of the creative space, bringing together students passionate about science and technology to learn, conduct research, and develop the essential skills of global citizens in the digital era.
