More Visitors to Benefit from Free and Discounted Access to Hue Relics from 2026

HNN.VN - From early 2026, in addition to maintaining current ticket prices, Hue City will significantly expand the groups eligible for free and discounted entrance fees to heritage sites within the Hue Complex of Monuments. The move aims to facilitate access to heritage for residents and students, and to promote sustainable tourism demand.

Accordingly, Hue City People’s Council has adopted a resolution regarding to the collection, management, and use of entrance fees of historical-cultural heritage sites in the area. Under the resolution, entrance fees for each site as well as combined tickets covering 2 or 3 sites will remain unchanged.

As for the combined ticket for 4 sites, including Hue Imperial Citadel – Mausoleums of Emperors Minh Mang - Tu Duc - Khai Dinh costs 530,000 VND/adult/visit and 100,000 VND/child (from 7to 12). A pass covering all heritage sites is priced at 600,000 VND/adult/visit and 120,00 VND/child. The all-site combined ticket is valid for 5 days from the date of purchase.

A notable new feature of the resolution is the expanded eligibility for free and discounted admission, beyond the groups specified in previous resolutions of Hue City People’s Council. Specifically, Hue will offer reduced entrance fees to senior citizens and poor households; students from universities, colleges, and vocational institutions within the city; as well as students nationwide whose schools organize annual extracurricular visits and register with the Hue Monuments of Conservation Center.

Additionally, primary, secondary, and high school students nationwide participating in school-organized extracurricular visits will be granted free admission. The city will also extend fee exemptions to partner organizations and individuals, as well as working delegations and media units engaged in research, training, cooperation, and knowledge exchange related to the conservation, restoration, and promotion of heritage values.

Beyond regular exemption and discount policies, the resolution allows for temporary reductions in entrance fees at certain sites or routes during tourism stimulus periods, festivals, and major events in Hue. The discount may reach up to 50% of the prescribed rates and will apply to both domestic and international visitors.

According to the Hue Monuments of Conservation Center, revenue from heritage site entrance fees in 2025 is estimated at over 470 billion VND. During the period of 2026-2030, annual revenue is projected to rise gradually, ranging from 495 billion VND to 555 billion VND. Meanwhile, average annual expenditure is estimated at around 224 billion VND, an increase of about 39 billion VND compared to current levels, mainly due to higher salaries and personnel costs, staff streamlining, monument maintenance and restoration, and the organization of Hue Festival.
