Nearly 580,000 Hue residents receive regular health check-ups

HNN.VN - Over 3 weeks since the campaign was launched, up to now, nearly 580,000 residents across Hue have received regular health check-ups, accounting for 45.4% of the city’s population. The encouraging result marks significant progress in the implementation of the nationwide health screening program, helping detect diseases at an early stage, improve the quality of healthcare services, and gradually build a synchronized electronic health records system.

According to the Department of Health, the health check-ups program has been rolled out across all communes and wards, with the participation of local health stations, hospitals, and mobile medical teams, ensuring residents in every area can access healthcare services. Between June 15 and July 21, 25,633 people received health check-ups, including nearly 20,000 adults aged 18 and above, reflecting the public’s strong response to the initiative.

Beyond providing routine health check-ups, the program plays a vital role in screening for and detecting non-communicable diseases that are on the rise, including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Individuals diagnosed through the screenings are provided with medical counseling, referred for further care, or enrolled in treatment and management at primary healthcare facilities. This approach helps reduce the risk of complications, eases the burden on higher-level hospitals, and lowers long-term healthcare costs.

Regular health check-ups also contribute to updating each resident’s electronic health record, laying the foundation for comprehensive and continuous health management. The records enable healthcare professionals to monitor patients’ medical histories and develop appropriate care and treatment plans. The initiative also marks an important step in the healthcare sector’s digital transformation, advancing a proactive, continuous, and people-centered model of healthcare.

In the coming time, the city’s health sector will keep on mobilizing healthcare personnel, medical equipment, and other necessary resources to accelerate the implementation of the program. The goal is to complete regular health check-ups for 100% of priority groups by September 30, 2026, while expanding coverage to the entire population by the end of 2026.

Achieving these targets will not only help improve residents’ quality of life but also lay the foundation for a healthier community with a stronger focus on disease prevention, supporting the sustainable development of Hue’s healthcare system in the new phase.
