The conference takes place at a time when heritage preservation has become an increasingly urgent priority in the pursuit of sustainable development, closely linked with digital transformation, the cultural industries, and international integration.

According to the Organizing committee, the conference aims to provide an international academic forum where scholars, experts, and policymakers can present new research findings, exchange international experience, and propose scientific and policy recommendations to improve the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage in conjunction with sustainable development. The event is also expected to strengthen research collaboration among universities, research institutes, and organizations in Vietnam and abroad.

The conference has received more than 300 papers from scholars, experts, lecturers, and administrators from both Vietnam and overseas. Following the peer-review process, more than 200 papers were selected for publication in the conference proceedings and presented in the plenary and thematic sessions. The selected studies address a wide range of emerging topics, including heritage governance, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, the development of cultural industries, the heritage economy, and sustainable development

The conference program consists of a plenary session in the morning and four thematic sessions in the afternoon

The plenary session will bring together distinguished scholars from Spain, Japan, South Korea, France, and Vietnam, who will present papers on heritage governance, international conservation experience, smart transformation in the age of artificial intelligence, heritage preservation linked to sustainable tourism development, and the revitalization of heritage cities.

Among the featured presentations, Dr. Phan Thanh Hai will deliver a paper entitled "Preserving and Promoting the Cultural Heritage of Hue Ancient Capital in a New Context: From 50 Years of Practice to a Heritage-Based Development Strategy". His presentation will reflect on half a century of preserving the Complex of Hue Monuments while proposing strategic directions for the next phase of heritage-based development.

In the afternoon, delegates will participate in four thematic sessions covering international experience, theoretical foundations and practical approaches to heritage preservation in Vietnam, the preservation and promotion of Hue's cultural heritage, and an English-language session.

Discussions will span a broad range of topics, including the preservation of intangible cultural heritage, digital culture, national soft power, the heritage economy, digital transformation, artificial intelligence applications, as well as in-depth studies of Hue's heritage, such as the Imperial City, documentary heritage, bai choi folk art, vegetarian cuisine, and urban heritage governance.

Hosting the conference in Hue will not only help promote the outstanding universal values of the Complex of Hue Monuments and Vietnam's cultural heritage but also reinforce the city's position as a leading center for culture, education, scientific research, and international cooperation in Central Vietnam.

The conference is expected to provide valuable scientific input for improving heritage preservation policies, expanding international cooperation, and making more effective use of cultural resources to support sustainable development in the new period.
