Taking place from September 29 to October 3, the course updates participants on hand surgery, upper limb arthroscopic microsurgery, and post-operative hand rehabilitation. The program aims to disseminate knowledge, improve practical skills, and contribute to enhancing the quality of care in the specialized field of hand surgery.
With the cooperation of the Australian Hand Surgery team, Australian hand surgery experts have visited the hospital annually since 1996. To date, 19 specialized hand surgery training courses have been held.
Additionally, doctors from Australia and Hue Central Hospital also provide consultations, examinations, and surgeries for 40 patients with congenital hand deformities and post-surgical complications, as well as conditions such as paralysis, wrist and shoulder joint injuries, and brachial plexus injuries, etc.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of Hue Central Hospital, emphasized that through these training courses, surgeons have numerous opportunities to learn knowledge ranging from basic to advanced, share experiences, and enhance their skills in the field of hand surgery.
The 20th Vietnam-Australia Hand Surgery Training Course is not only an opportunity for domestic doctors and trainees to access modern knowledge and techniques from international experts, but also contributes to improving treatment quality and providing recovery opportunities for many patients with complex hand conditions. It also serves as evidence of the strong and effective collaboration between Hue Central Hospital and Australian expert teams over nearly three decades.
