Nearly 700 delegates to attend the Vietnam - Japan Local Cooperation Forum 2026

HNN.VN - The Vietnam - Japan Local Cooperation Forum 2026 (the Forum) is expected to resolve obstacles, accelerate ODA-funded projects, attract investment, strengthen educational ties, and establish a mechanism for annual cooperation between localities of the two countries, contributing to creating momentum for Hue City’s economic breakthrough and deeper international integration.

From September 5 - 6, 2026, in Hue City, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with Hue City People’s Committee and the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, organize the Vietnam - Japan Local Cooperation Forum 2026 under the theme ‘Vietnam - Japan Local Cooperation Forum: Shaping a Digital, Green, and Sustainable Future - From Strategic Commitments to Concrete Actions’.

The Forum is expected to attract more than 700 delegates, including 250 Japanese delegates and 450 Vietnamese delegates representing Government agencies, ministries, sectors, localities, organizations, associations, and businesses from both countries.

The event aims to put into concrete actions the list of priority cooperation areas in science - technology, innovation, digital transformation, and economic security, recently approved by the two countries’ Government leaders.

The Forum will feature two thematic sessions on the innovation ecosystem, smart urban areas, and cultural industries; bilateral meetings; an exhibition space with 30 booths showcasing signature products from 45 Vietnamese and Japanese organizations; and a field survey in Hue City.
