Hue Central Hospital signed the cooperation program for liver transplant with ASAN Medical Center

Attending the signing ceremony were Prof. Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of Hue Central Hospital, representatives of the Board of Directors, Centers, Departments, Functional Departments of Hue Central Hospital. As for ASAN, there was Mr. Ki-Dong Choi, ASAN International Health Manager and Mr. Dong kwan Kim, Chief of the office for International Health ASAN.

On this occasion, the two sides agreed on a cooperation agreement focusing on five objectives. The top priority is liver transplantation, such as facilitating the development of high quality human resources for Hue Central Hospital; sending ASAN experts for experience exchange in the field of examination, treatment, liver transplantation; consulting on difficult and complex cases through remote medical system. In addition, they will also organize conferences and seminars to share experiences in the field of liver medical examination and treatment in Vietnam ....

The signing ceremony is considered as a milestone in the cooperation and enhancement of the relationship between the two sides in the field of health in order to turn Hue Central Hospital into a specialized medical center for organ transplants with an international brand.

The ASAN Medical Center, founded in 1989 (a joint venture of late President Ju-Yung Chung, the founder of Hyundai) has successfully developed in the medical field. The center has Transplant units, Cardiovascular hospital, Cancer Institute, Children's Hospital and the center for health examination and health care. Since 1999, the center has performed liver transplants for adults from the living, using the right lobes that have been treated. In 2000, the Center performed liver transplants from two pieces of living donors. In 2003, they performed liver transplants from adult living donors with incompatible ABO (2 patients, two donors). In 2012, the Center has the highest number of liver transplants in the world (379 cases) and by 2017 to 468 cases, the leading number of cases in the world.
