Honouring outstanding staff at Hue Central Hospital

TTH.VN - On February 25th, Hue Central Hospital (HCH) held a ceremony to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors’ Day.

At the event, Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep read aloud President Ho Chi Minh’s letter to medical professionals, reminding attendees of Uncle Ho’s guidance on public health care responsibilities.

Currently, the hospital has nearly 4,000 staff members, including approximately 2,000 doctors and postgraduate medical professionals. In 2024, Hue Central Hospital received over 900,000 patients and performed more than 51,000 Level III major surgeries and above. The hospital has also successfully implemented advanced and specialized medical techniques across multiple fields, saving countless lives nationwide.

In the field of organ transplantation, Hue Central Hospital has carried out 285 organ and tissue transplants, including one cross-country liver transplant and four cross-country heart transplants, bringing the total number of transplants to over 2,100. The Ministry of Health has recognized Hue Central Hospital as a leading high-tech medical facility and one of six public hospitals in Vietnam receiving government investment to meet international standards for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision toward 2050.

Building on its existing strengths, Hue Central Hospital aims to become a world-class hospital and a leading high-quality medical training center on a level with the Southeast Asia region and the world. Embracing the “A good physician is like a kind mother” principle, the hospital’s medical staff continuously strive to enhance patient care quality, improve professional expertise, and provide dedicated service to patients.

On this occasion, 31 staff members were awarded the title of “Meritorious Doctor”. Six hospital departments and centers received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, 29 units were honoured by the Ministry of Health, and various individuals and teams received commendations from the hospital’s director.

On the afternoon of January 20, at Hue Central Hospital, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City in collaboration with the City’s Women Entrepreneurs Association, the Women’s Intellectuals Association of the hospital, the Hospital’s Women Affairs Committee, and the Social Work - Customer Service Department held a program titled “Spring of Love” for patients.

On January 15th, Hue Central Hospital (HCH), in collaboration with the Charity and Social Affairs Committee of Hue City Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Hue City Young Doctors Association, and other benefactors, organized the “Loving Spring” program at the “Children's Space” of the Pediatrics Center.
