Taking “Spring of Love” to difficult patients

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of January 20, at Hue Central Hospital, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City in collaboration with the City’s Women Entrepreneurs Association, the Women’s Intellectuals Association of the hospital, the Hospital’s Women Affairs Committee, and the Social Work - Customer Service Department held a program titled “Spring of Love” for patients.

Sponsors and patients at the gift-giving event 

In the framework of the program, in addition to enjoying music performances by Hue Focus Club, there was also a ceremony of presenting 140 gifts with a total value of 70 million VND, including cash and essentials to 140 patients with difficult circumstances receiving treatment at the Oncology Center, Clinical Hematology Department, etc.

Along with other activities to support patients who cannot come back home for Tet, the Social Work - Customer Service Department and the Women’s Intellectuals Association of the hospital also gave 200 gifts worth 60 million VND. Each portion of the gift included cash, cookies, and milk to encourage and uplift the spirits of patients who are fighting their illnesses.

On the morning of March 25, Hue Central Hospital announced that it had held a discharge ceremony for a pediatric patient with thalassemia (a hereditary blood disorder) following a successful bone marrow transplant using marrow donated by the patient’s older sister. This is the 15th thalassemia bone marrow transplant performed at the hospital, marking an important step forward in the treatment of genetic hematologic diseases.
