The program lasted for 5 days, and it had the participation of 40 members from Hanoi Urban Sketching Group, Hue artists, as well as artists and artisans from the ethnic minorities in A Luoi District

The participating artists had real-life experiences to create paintings and make sketches of architectural works, patterns, and decorative motifs of traditional houses of ethnic minorities, such as Moong house (long stilt house) of Pa Co people, Rong house of Ta Oi community, and Gươl house of Co Tu people. Furthermore, the artists also created artworks focusing on topics such as the vibrant colors of tangible and intangible cultural heritages, daily life, and culinary culture of Pa Co, Ta Oi, Pa Hy, and Co Tu ethnic groups, etc.

The program achieved great achievements with nearly 120 quality paintings, featuring diverse artistic styles and contents about A Luoi traditional art, as well as over 30 handicraft products from the Zèng A Luoi weaving village, wood carving, Noq wood, and knitting.

According to the organizing committee, in the context of modernization, traditional crafts in general, and those in A Luoi in particular, are facing challenges. Many traditional beauties are gradually fading due to the influx of new trends; the traditional architecture of ethnic minorities is at risk of being altered and falling into oblivion. Therefore, the work of preservation and promotion of this traditional culture is a necessary and important issue.

The works created during the program, with the passion and enthusiasm of the artists, painters, and artisans, have been imbued with their dedication and are dedicated to Hue and A Luoi. These works will be preserved, stored, displayed, and effectively promoted by the Hue Museum of Fine Arts. They will contribute to introducing and promoting Hue’s cultural heritage in general, and A Luoi’s traditional culture in particular, to the public, domestic tourists, and international friends.
