“Coloring heritage” and “Hue Art Memory Game” featuring traditional Vietnamese motifs from the Nguyen Dynasty are part of the “Heritage education” program for 2024, jointly organized by Hue Monuments Conservation Center and GEKE (German society for the Preservation of cultural heritage). The program is held at Phung Tien Temple in Hue Imperial Citadel and is entirely free for children.

With the ability to sing and skillfully use the traditional musical instruments, artisan Pi Ke Do, 50, Hong Bac Commune is also jokingly called “king of musical instruments” by the Pa Co people. He has spent more than 30 years researching, and crafting traditional musical instruments and has become an artisan in the most sophisticated musical instruments in A Luoi District.

In Hue's traditional gardens, jackfruit trees are often present as an obvious thing. Not simply a fruit tree, jackfruit is present in Hue's cultural life from cuisine, folk literature, fine arts, architecture to philosophy and religion.

Hue Monuments Conservation Center recently had a working session with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Ha Duong, managing director of the Vingroup Innovation Foundation – VinIF, to discuss the implementation process of the project “Restoring, training and teaching Hue tuong mask painting art - a traditional art form at high risk of being lost”. The project is built by Hue Monuments Conservation Center and sponsored by the VinIF.

Participating in the International Art Festival Week Hue 2024, the Zhejiang Wu Opera Research Center of China will stage and perform some outstanding excerpts showcasing the charm and quintessence of Zhejiang Opera and traditional Chinese opera.

The performance lasts 50 minutes with the theme of the four seasons, the Art Nouveau movement combined with traditional Vietnamese lacquer art, minimalism with dragons and phoenixes. The show also features the movement of Art Deco along with iconic plants and trees in Vietnamese culture.

Woman teacher-artist Quynh Nga has just been honored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism as one of 78 advanced role models in the cultural field nationwide in 2023. Just returning from Hanoi, she confided, “I am really touched and delighted to be honored. I feel deeply grateful to my profession, my family, and my colleagues."

Together with talented artists and students all over the country, 3 young people studying at Hue Music Academy have passed through many strict rounds to be honored and awarded scholarships of the Tran Van Khe fund, a fund named after a famous traditional culture and music researcher in Vietnam.

Dozens of traditional Ao Dai display booths, along with accompanying accessories and famous art products from Hue, were recently exhibited at An Dinh Palace (Phan Dinh Phung Street, Hue City) on the afternoon of August 1st.

After nearly 10 days of activity, the 1st Co Tu Ethnic Traditional Sculpture Creation Camp in 2023, hosted by the People's Committee of Nam Dong district, closed on July 29th. Many outstanding works of art were awarded by the organizers.
