The “A Luoi traditional art” creation program features the participation of artists and architects from the Hanoi Urban Sketching Group, artists from Hue, and ethnic minority artisans from A Luoi district.

Artists will create sketches directly at architectural sites, capturing patterns and decorative motifs of traditional ethnic minority houses, such as the Moong house (long stilt house) of Pa Co people, the Rong house of Ta Oi people, and the Guol house of Co Tu people. Additionally, some artists and artisans will create wood carvings, pottery, Zeng weaving, and basket weaving.

Through this activity, the organizers hope to contribute to preserving the traditional cultural and artistic values of ethnic minorities in A Luoi, traditional beauties that are gradually fading due to the introduction of new trends, and the traditional architecture of ethnic minorities that is at risk of being changed or lost. This program aims to promote and honor these values to domestic tourists and international friends.

On this occasion, the Museum of Fine Arts also organized the exhibition “The Beauty of A Luoi through Sketching Art,” introducing 150 sketches to the public. The exhibition displays the works of artists who participated in the “Journey of Traditional Cultural Beauty of A Luoi” program organized by Hue Museum of Fine Arts in collaboration with A Luoi District People’s Committee in March 2023.

The sketches are colorful paintings depicting the culture, customs, traditional architecture, and cuisine of A Luoi. The exhibition also serves as a way to preserve beautiful memories of the cultural beauty of this mountainous region of Hue city, contributing to preserving the value of the cultural heritage of Hue city in general and A Luoi district in particular.

Along with the exhibition are display and introduction sessions of folk paintings, and educational art activities with practical applications for students and those who love traditional art.
