A business-friendly investment climate, coupled with the city government's strong commitment to supporting enterprises, is becoming a key driver in attracting investors to choose Hue as a long-term investment destination.

A highlight of Hue Today Issue No. 483 is the coverage of the second extraordinary session of Hue City People's Council, held on the afternoon of July 26th. At the session, Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, was elected Chairman of Hue City People's Committee for the 2026–2031 term.

Marking the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), on the morning of July 27, the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city held an incense-and-flower offering ceremony at Hue City Martyrs’ Cemetery to honor and pay tribute to heroic martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation and the defense of the Fatherland.

After 4 days of taking place from July 23 to 26, the program Hue - Culinary Capital 2026, which was held under the theme ‘The Day of Hue Beef Noodle’, attracted about 48,000 tourist arrivals and generated an estimated revenue of about 12 billion VND.

On a Sunday morning at the foot of Hon Vuon Mountain, groups of runners busily laced up their trail shoes, adjusted their trekking poles and hydration vests before setting off along steep, rocky paths still glistening with morning dew. Instead of pounding the familiar flat streets, they head into the mountains and forests to challenge themselves. Trail running is rapidly gaining popularity in Hue, attracting a growing number of enthusiasts, from young adults to runners well into their 60s.

On the morning of July 26, the Youth Union of Hue Newspaper and Radio-Television, in collaboration with partner organizations, organized a tribute journey to mark the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), featuring a series of meaningful activities.

On the morning of July 26, Hue City People’s Committee coordinated with Wind Sports Club to kick off ‘Hue Sports Festival 2026’ balance bike race at the Moon Garden Parking Lot, AEON MALL Hue.

On the evening of July 25th, at Thuong Bac Park, the Department of Tourism, in collaboration with partner organizations, staged the "Bun bo Hue - The Legend of Van Cu and Huong Ngu Symphony" performance, a signature event of Hue - Culinary Capital 2026 program. The event was attended by Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee.

Featured on page 2 is the article ‘Momentum from grassroots initiatives’, which addresses a timely issue after one year of operating the two-tier local government model. A key takeaway is that when local authorities are empowered and willing to innovate, many procedures are shortened, government services move closer to the citizens, and public satisfaction becomes the benchmark for governance effectiveness.

On the late afternoon of July 24, the Department of Tourism, in coordination with relevant units, organized the National Bun bo Hue Festival. This is one of the highlight activities of the Hue - Culinary Capital 2026 program, aimed at honoring traditional values and spreading the Bun bo Hue brand to a wide audience of residents and visitors.
