With the goal of building environmentally friendly Green Transport infrastructure, in line with the overall economic development orientation of the province in the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, on June 14, Hue Monuments Conservation Center and Gbike Co., Ltd. (South Korea) signed a cooperation agreement to implement a green transport project in the relic area to exploit and promote the values of Hue relics.

Phu Son Waste Treatment Plant (in Phu Son commune, Huong Thuy town) was invested in and built by EB Environmental Energy Ltd. Co. at a cost of roughly 1.7 trillion Vietnamese dong. The plant officially commence operations at the end of January 2024, playing an crucial role in effectively addressing the waste management issue and ensuring environmental hygiene in Thua Thien Hue province - a pressing concern for the community as landfills in Thuy Phuong have reached capacity, disrupting residents’ lives with foul odors emanating from overflowing landfills.

With the initial numbers of 3 11-seat electric cars, 23 electric bicycles and 50 bicycles, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the heritage sites, enjoy fresh air, and admire the beautiful scenery of Gia Long Emperor’s mausoleum.

To reach sustainable tourism development, running towards green tourism is indispensable. Thua Thien Hue has special strengths of cultural, historical, and landscape, as well as environmental resources to develop tourism; and, carrying out cooperation to develop green tourism is one of the goals.

The "Straw’s Journey" project contributes to protecting the environment and reusing resources after the harvest by producing environmentally friendly paper products from straw.

A host of environmental problems, urban embellishment, traffic pressure, and traffic network planning need radical and appropriate solutions. The face of a civilized and modern city is what the province is aiming for in the process of building a centrally-run city.

Many localities in the province are actively organizing photo contests and making video clips to promote Hue’s tourism and introduce its beautiful images of Hue culture, civilized lifestyle, environmental landscapes, and friendly Hue people who warmly welcome visitors and friends from both domestic and international destinations.

Hue City needs to develop an overall green transport development plan that integrates with other development activities, one of which isthe appropriate roadmaps together with an integrated and environmentally-friendly transport network.

Evaluating and ranking the environmental quality in 63 provinces and cities) is an opportunity for Thua Thien Hue to recognize as well as have clearer orientations to planning a green growth strategy.
