On the morning of August 31, the People’s Committee of Chan May - Lang Co Commune held the “Chan May - Lang Co Jogging Marathon 2025”, with the participation of over 1,000 runners in all ages coming from various localities.

The Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone (CM-LC) has become an economic growth pole in Hue City. This place is home to the Chan May Seaport, which is asserting its important position and becoming a crucial link for the formation of a logistics hub of the Central region and the East-West Economic Corridor.

On the afternoon of July 31, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong held a working session with the leaders of Kim Long Motor Hue Joint Stock Company regarding the progress of the Automobile Manufacturing and Assembly Complex Project in the Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone, and discussed plans for investment expansion.

This is considered an important legal basis to implement sub-zone planning projects, urban embellishment, and attracting strategic investment, gradually transforming the economic zone into the southern development hub of Hue City.

The lotus is one of the beautiful symbols of serenity, peace, and tranquility. In Hue, the lotus blooming season usually begins in May and June, when the weather changes into hot and sultry days. This time also coincides with April of the Lunar year, the time marked with the significant event of the Grand Buddhism Celebration (Vesak).

On the morning of January 9, the Department of Tourism in collaboration with Chan May Port Joint Stock Company and Saigontourist Travel Services Co., Ltd held a program of welcoming the first cruise ship and tourists to Hue City by sea in 2025.

On the morning of October 25th, the Department of Tourism, in collaboration with Chan May Port Joint Stock Company, held the inauguration ceremony for Visitor Information and Support Center at Chan May Port.

On the morning of October 19, at the Chan May - Lang Co economic zone, the Kim Long Motor Hue Joint Stock Company held a ceremony to launch the KIMLONG X9 minibus.

A positive signal at the beginning of 2024 is that many travel companies have registered to bring cruise travel tourists to Chan May port. The remaining challenge is how to attract more high-end tourists to visit, experience, and “spend money” in Hue City.

This December 2023, the Regional Container Lines (RCL) from Thailand opened an international container shipping route to Chan May port. This shows not only the potential and advantages of the port but also a driving force and catalyst contributing to the development of the Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone in particular and Thua Thien Hue province in general.
