Construction begins on social housing project in Chan May

HNN.VN - On the morning of March 26th, in Chan May - Lang Co Commune (Hue City), FUTA Land Real Estate Joint Stock Company held the groundbreaking ceremony for Chan May Social Housing Project (located in Chan May Urban Area, Lot No. 8). The event was held to mark the 51st anniversary of Hue Liberation Day (March 26th, 1975 - March 26th, 2026).

Attending the ceremony were Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Pham Duc Tien; members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee: Standing Vice Chairman of the City People’s Council Nguyen Quang Tuan; Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Hoang Hai Minh; along with leaders of various departments, agencies, and localities.

The project is considered one of the highlights in Hue City’s roadmap for developing social housing, contributing to the realization of the target of completing 3.200 social housing units in 2026 in accordance with the Government’s resolution.

Under the development orientation of Politburo Resolution 54 and the general urban planning of Hue to 2045, with a vision to 2065, the Chan May – Lang Co Economic Zone is gradually becoming a key industrial, service, and logistics center of the Central region. The Chan May Social Housing Project is being implemented to help address housing needs for workers, stabilize the workforce, and support local economic development.

Covering an area of nearly 1,9 hectares, the project will provide 460 apartments, with a total floor area of more than 51.000 square meters. The buildings are designed as low-rise structures (under six stories), emphasizing open living spaces suitable for residents’ practical needs. The project is located near the Bu Lu River, with convenient access to Chan May Beach, and is surrounded by melaleuca forests and natural mountain ranges. These factors are expected to enhance living quality, aiming for harmony between urban development and landscape preservation.

The project involves investment participation from Kim Long Motor Hue Joint Stock Company and is developed by FUTA Land Real Estate Joint Stock Company; it is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2026 and be completed by the second quarter of 2027.

Mrs. Tran Thi Hoa Xim - General Director of FUTA Land Real Estate Joint Stock Company, stated that the project marks the beginning of the company’s long-term strategy in the social housing sector, aiming to deliver well-planned, high-quality, and sustainable living environments.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Hoang Hai Minh stated that the project not only addresses housing demand for workers and residents in the Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone, but also contributes to stabilizing livelihoods, attracting human resources, promoting socio-economic development, and gradually improving urban infrastructure in line with planning.

“To ensure the project’s progress and quality, the city requests that investors and contractors concentrate resources, organize construction in a scientific and safe manner; at the same time, relevant authorities and local administrations are required to continue providing support and promptly resolve difficulties arising during implementation,” Mr. Minh emphasized.
