According to the Management Board of Hue City’s Economic and Industrial Zones, the Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone is emerging as one of the city’s key growth poles, playing a pivotal role in the development of industry, seaports, logistics, tourism, and coastal urban areas.

To date, the economic zone has attracted numerous domestic and foreign-invested projects, many of which have already come into stable operation, contributing to job creation, increased budget revenues, and expansion of Hue’s industrial space.

Information presented at the meeting indicated that investors are stepping up construction progress on technical infrastructure, factories, warehouses, and auxiliary facilities across multiple projects. Several industrial, seaport, logistics, and worker housing projects are also gradually taking shape, forming an integrated industrial and service ecosystem linked to Chan May Port Urban Area.

However, several obstacles are still hindering project implementation. In particular, land clearance in some areas has yet to meet schedule requirements, while transport infrastructure, street lighting systems, and supporting facilities along key routes such as the western corridor of Chan May Port and Canh Duong coastal road continue to require synchronized investment and upgrades.

At the meeting, many businesses also urged the city to introduce additional appropriate support mechanisms to facilitate investment, while paying greater attention to resolving labor shortages that are affecting plans for production expansion.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Ha Van Tuan affirmed that the city would continue to accompany the businesses, closely listening to practical difficulties arising during project implementation to promptly address and create favorable conditions for projects to stay on schedule.

Mr. Ha Van Tuan directed the Management Board of Hue City’s Economic and Industrial Zones to maintain close supervision over the progress of each project and proactively work with investors to resolve bottlenecks related to investment procedures, land issues, construction, and technical infrastructure. Relevant departments, sectors, and localities were also tasked with enhancing coordination in land clearance and accelerating the development of infrastructure serving production and business operations.

For businesses, Hue City leaders called on investors to continue concentrating resources and accelerating the implementation of committed project components, while also paying greater attention to environmental protection, workplace safety, and living conditions for workers. Mr. Ha Van Tuan also emphasized the need to review drainage systems in areas frequently affected by flooding within Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone to introduce synchronized solutions ahead of the rainy season, thereby minimizing impacts on production activities and cargo transportation.

In terms of the workforce, Vice Chairman Ha Van Tuan assigned the Management Board of the City’s Economic and Industrial Zones to serve as the focal agency for coordinating with departments, sectors, local authorities, vocational education institutions, and businesses to assess labor demand across industries and implementation stages. And, the assessment will serve as a basis for developing training and recruitment linkage plans tailored to the practical needs of businesses. At the same time, authorities will step up career guidance, employment counseling, and information dissemination to support local workers in securing stable jobs.
