On the morning of July 11, Phong Dinh Ward People’s Committee officially launched the Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2026 at Phuoc Tich Ancient Village under the theme “Traditional Ao Dai - Old Scent of the Ancient Village”.

“Books and Ao Dai - Nurturing Intellect and Honoring Vietnamese Identity” was the theme of an exhibition held by the City Library on the morning of July 9 at No. 29A Le Quy Don St. (Thuan Hoa Ward).

On the evening of July 7, Hue Museum of Fine Arts officially opened the performance and exhibition program titled “The Knowledge of Tailoring and Wearing Hue Ao Dai” at Diem Phung Thi Art Center (No.17 Le Loi St., Thuan Hoa Ward).

On the evening of July 6th, at Nghinh Luong Pavilion, Hue City Department of Culture and Sports organized the artistic performance and flashmob event ‘Ao Dai - The Rhythm of Youth’. The program attracted large crowds of local residents, visitors, and hundreds of children.

On the evening of July 5th, as part of Hue Ao Dai Week 2026, Hue City Garment Association organized the exhibition and interactive experience ‘The Story of Hue Ao Dai’, showcasing hundreds of distinctive ao dai designs.

On the morning of July 5, the Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports and relevant agencies and organizations, organized the 2026 environmental cycling event under the theme ‘Ao Dai along the Streets’.

Within the framework of the community Ao Dai Week - “Hue in Autumn” Festival 2026, on the morning of July 4, the Department of Culture and Sports, in collaboration with Hue Monuments Conservation Center, organized a ceremony to offer incense and flowers in commemoration of Martial Lord Nguyen Phuc Khoat, and holding a procession of gratitude to Martial Lord Nguyen Phuc Khoat, and Emperor Minh Mang.

Well-known Vietnamese entertainers Truong Giang, Le Duong Bao Lam, Ngo Kien Huy, Kieu Minh Tuan, Huy Khanh, and others, dressed in traditional ao dai, joined the ‘Bach Hoa Bo Hanh’ (Hundred Flowers Parade) to promote Vietnam's traditional attire and the cultural heritage of Hue.

Together in a fashion and artistic program, each of the Ao dai collections expresses its own cultural stories, showcasing beauty by the romantic Perfume River, evoking a wide range of emotions among audiences.

On the morning of July 3, hundreds of people wearing the traditional ao-dai took part in the “Ao Dai Connecting Tourism and Heritage” event, held at the forecourt of Quoc Tu Giam historical site of Hue Imperial Citadel (on 23 Thang 8 St., Phu Xuan Ward).

At Hai Ba Trung Pedestrian Street, the program “Echoes of the Homeland” attracted thousands of spectators. The program brought together participants of all ages, evoking deep emotions.

This beauty has also blended with many other factors to contribute to the recognition of Ao dai as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage under the name “Knowledge of Tailoring and Wearing Hue Ao dai”. Hue locals in general and Hue women in particular have the right to hope that one day in the near future, Hue Ao dai will be recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

In the poetic space of the Song Huong Theater, the "Linh Phung" (Phoenix) Ao dai festival night, part of the autumn festival of the Hue Festival 2024, left a beautiful impression on the locals and tourists.

Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2024 with a series of activities and events last June has contributed to promoting culture, attracting tourism, and socio-economic development.
