A highlight of the opening ceremony was a mass ao-dai performance featuring over 100 local women and young people performing on the shady roads of the ancient village, ancient traditional ruong houses, and the poetic O Lau River. The graceful images of traditional ao-dai blending seamlessly with the peaceful charm of the ancient village created a scene rich in Hue’s cultural identity, drawing the attention of large numbers of residents and visitors alike.

Beyond being an ao-dai showcase, the program also highlighted community participation by placing residents at the heart of the event. The genuine involvement of officials and residents demonstrated that ao-dai is not confined to festivals or ceremonial occasions but remains a living cultural heritage woven into daily life. A range of cultural performances, folk games, and traditional craft activities added to the festive atmosphere, contributing to promoting the cultural images of Phuoc Tich Ancient Village to visitors.

According to Mr. Tran Van Huy, Vice Chairman of Phong Dinh Ward People’s Committee, hosting Hue Community Ao Dai Week at Phuoc Tich Ancient Village has created a unique cultural experience for both residents and visitors. The event was held to celebrate the timeless beauty of Vietnam’s traditional ao-dai in association with traditional cultural values. The festival also served as an opportunity to showcase the distinctive identity of Phong Dinh, contributing to the preservation and promotion of its heritage values and supporting the sustainable development of local tourism.
