This year, the “Red Sunday” event was divided into two phases, including the Voluntary Blood Donation Week from January 6 to January 10 at the Center for Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Hue Central Hospital, and the second phase on January 12 at Hue University.
After one week of implementation, the Center for Hematology and Blood Transfusion attracted over 300 participants and collected 220 units of blood. At the event on the morning of January 12, the Organizing Committee continued to receive registration for blood donation from over 1,000 people. As a result, the entire Festival is expected to collect 700 units of blood, ensuring a blood reserve to serve emergency patients, and addressing the blood shortage often occurring after the Lunar New Year. This will be a warm and meaningful gift for patients in need of blood, who are being treated at Hue Central Hospital.

Through the Festival, the City Youth Union - the City Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union called on all youth union members, young people, and citizens to register to donate organs and tissues. This contributes to spreading more widely and profoundly in society the message of donating organs and tissues to save lives.
