Early preparation
At Son Ha Hue Co., Ltd. (Phu Da Industrial Park), preparations for caring for union members and workers ahead of the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026 have been underway since early December. These days, the company’s trade union executive committee is balancing the completion of its professional duties with compiling lists and categorizing Tet gift needs for hundreds of union members and employees to place orders with reputable suppliers.
According to Nguyen Hoang Nguyen, Head of the Business Planning and Import - Export Department and Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Son Ha Hue Co., Ltd. Hue, during the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo, each union member and employee will receive, in addition to the 13th-month salary, a Tet gift worth VND 800,000, with VND 600,000 supported by the company and VND 200,000 by the trade union. In respect of employees’ practical needs, the company’s trade union carried out surveys that allowed each employee to choose two gift portions - one from the company and one from the trade union - from practical options such as daily necessities, food, and beverages. “Allowing employees to directly register gifts in line with their personal needs not only fosters initiative but also ensures the gifts meet recipients’ expectations,” Nguyen said.
At MSV Co., Ltd. (Phu Bai Industrial Park), Lunar New Year care for employees has been jointly implemented by the company and the trade union in a stable and consistent approach, as in previous years.
Le Quy Hoang, Chairman of the Trade Union of MSV Co., Ltd. , said that for the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo, employees will receive a bonus equivalent to 1.3 times the 13th-month salary, calculated based on the average actual income for the year, along with gifts and other year-end bonuses in line with internal regulations. “The Board of Directors is reviewing and finalizing procedures to issue an official decision and will announce it publicly as soon as possible, but the overall policy of Tet care for employees will remain stable,” Hoang said.

According to Le Quy Hoang, the key factor behind the company’s proactive Tet care for employees lies in the stable and positive performance of its production and business operations. With current orders fully signed through the end of 2026, the company is able to ensure stable employment and income for all union members and employees.
MSV Co., Ltd. currently employs 1,186 employees, with the average income in 2025 reaching approximately VND 8.7 million per person per month, up from 2024. The lowest basic salary for newly hired employees is VND 5.05 million per month, which serves as the basis for social insurance contributions in accordance with regulations. These figures reflect the company’s attention to wage and welfare policies - a foundation for employees to feel secure in long-term commitment.
Tet bonuses integrated in collective labor agreements
Practical experience from enterprises shows that Tet care for employees has increasingly become more systematic, with early preparation closely linked to production and business performance. At many enterprises, Tet bonus arrangements, including the 13th-month salary, have been deftly integrated by grassroots trade unions into the process of negotiating and signing collective labor agreements with employers. This provides both a legal basis and peace of mind for employees, even when enterprises have yet to announce Tet bonus plans early. From the employers’ side, proactively awarding Tet bonuses is not only an expression of appreciation but also an important solution to retain employees and ensure long-term production stability.
Alongside grassroots trade unions and enterprises, the Hue City Labor Federation has rolled out a plan to organize activities to care for union members and employees during the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026, closely aligned with the guidance of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Nguyen Quy, Vice Chairman of the Hue City Labor Federation, said that the peak period for Tet care will run from late January to mid-February 2026, including visits and gift-giving at enterprises with large workforces, the organization of programs such as “Tet Sum vay”(Tet Reunion) and “Bua com tat nien Cong doan” (Union Year-End Meal)” and visits to workers at boarding houses and construction sites ahead of New Year’s Eve.
Trade unions at all levels are strengthening dialogue and conducting surveys on salary and Tet bonus payments at enterprises. This enables the timely identification and support of employees at units with overdue wages, encountering difficulties, or facing potential labor disputes, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of employees.
From the proactiveness of enterprises and the close attention of grassroots trade unions to the coordinating and supporting role of higher-level trade unions, Tet care for union members and employees citywide is being actively carried out. Gifts and bonuses not only have material value but also embody recognition and sharing, reinforcing trust and enabling employees to feel secure in their long-term commitment to and partnership with enterprises.
