We visit Vinh Phu Secondary School (Phu Vang District) as construction teams are urgently completing the classrooms and practice rooms for the new school year. “Previously, the school had a row of two-story classrooms, but it did not meet the number of pupils in the area. In the rainy season, teachers and pupils were very difficult to guarantee the schedule of teaching and learning. When the leader of the commune told about the situation, Ms. Dang Thi Kim Oanh donated money to build more classrooms. The ground-breaking ceremony was honored to get the attendance of the National Vice-President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and other leaders of the province,” Mr. Le Quoc Phu, Director of Vinh Phu Secondary School said.

In addition to the row of classroom which are being built, Ms. Kim Oanh also supports the school to construct a multifunctional sports hall and school fence walls with a total value of 5 billion VND.

Mr. Ho Van Nhat, Chairman of Vinh Phu Commune People's Committee (Phu Vang District), said that Mrs. Kim Oanh had many supportive activities to build material facilities, to support the poor as well as do many other charity works in the area of ​​the commune in recent years. “In 2018, along with supporting to build classrooms in Vinh Phu Secondary School, Ms. Oanh supported the commune to build a concrete road with 350 meters long, 3 meters wide and 20 cm thick, connecting to Vinh Thai commune with a total value of over 400 million VND. In 2017, she also offered 300 million VND to repair the martyrs’ cemetery, donated 216 gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and the families have contributed to the revolution in the commune,” Mr. Nhat added.

Ms. Dang Thi Kim Oanh was born and raised in Vinh Phu commune (Phu Vang district). After getting married, she left home to work in Binh Duong. At present, she is the General Director of Kim Oanh Trade - Service and Construction Real Estate Joint Stock Company and Chairman of the Management Board of Kim Oanh Charity Fund. She has had many charitable activities throughout the country.

 “Thua Thien Hue is always the first place I think of in my charity activities because that's where I was born,” Ms. Kim Oanh said while she was giving gifts to the people in the Ullambana Festival 2018 in Hue. Besides carrying out supportive and charitable activities in Vinh Phu Commune, Ms. Kim Oanh always directs her heart to poor children and disadvantaged people in Thua Thien Hue. For many years, she has had many charitable activities such as giving scholarships to poor pupils in A Luoi district; giving gifts to child patients and poor patients in Hue Central Hospital, to orphans in Duc Son pagoda and to Thua Thien Hue Social Protection Center. She also funded hundreds of millions VND to build rural roads and cultural houses in Phu Hai Commune, as well as provided funding for the construction of day-boarding canteen for Phu Da 3 Primary school, Phu Da town…

Ms. Kim Oanh and her own charitable fund have come to Thua Thien Hue province with many activities to provide scholarships to poor students, to build gratitude houses, to show gratitude to families in preferential treatment policy, to help the Agent Orange victims, to relieve the people in natural disasters and fire, and to support poor patients. Every year, the Kim Oanh charitable fund carries out many large-scale charity programs on nationwide with billions of VND.

Mr. Ho Van Nhat expressed his gratitude to what Ms. Kim Oanh did for the homeland. “Ms. Kim Oanh is a kindhearted woman, always looking forward to her hometown since succeeding. Her charity activities have contributed to the social security and infrastructure development of the commune,” Mr. Nhat said.
