The writer and researcher Le Vu Truong Giang shares that  “Hue people tell stories about Hue” was created due to his historical research, and he wanted to convey historical knowledge and events through the language of literature. The book is a collection of 34 stories about historical anecdotes of notable figures, literary anecdotes, and folk culture anecdotes about the people of Hue and the region of Hue. These stories are told from the perspective of a young person today, with detailed and thorough insights to help readers better understand the story and the characters. At the same time, through these stories, the author aims to honor the people of Hue.

As for the writer and journalist Le Phi Tan, the memories of childhood with the purest moments of school days and the village by the waves, which have always stayed with him over time, are the source of inspiration that nourishes the essays in the book “Students over the Tam Giang Lagoon”. Not focusing on exploring the unusual, the author evokes empathy from the readers through a soft, intimate narrative style very characteristic of Hue, along with the subtle use of “pure Hue” vocabulary to create the local vibe, yet without confusing or interrupting the reader’s emotions by requiring them to stop too long to look up meanings.

“Hue people tell stories about Hue” and “Students over the Tam Giang Lagoon” are the gifts of the children of Hue, who offer their deep love for the ancient capital and always strive to cherish and preserve the values that have shaped this land and its people. These are two authors born and raised in Hue, who dedicate their love to the ancient capital and are always conscious of nurturing and safeguarding the values that have made this land and its people.
