In the framework of the poetry night, Le Tan Quynh, poet, Standing Vice Chairman of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations and Chairman of Hue City Writers’ Association, shared that spring and the First Full Moon of the first lunar month have long been an endless source of inspiration for Vietnamese poetry. He noted that poetry not only enriches spiritual life but also preserves the soul of the nation across generations.

The program opened with a recitation of President Ho Chi Minh’s poem “The First Full Moon”, performed by Meritorious Mai Le, setting a solemn and emotionally resonant tone for the night show. It was followed by a series of poetry readings and songs celebrating spring, Hue, and the motherland, including “Spring”, “Knocking on Spring’s Door”, “Huong River and Nostalgia”, “Hue Suddenly Enchants Me”, and “Moonlight over Tam Giang Lagoon”, performed by poets and artists. The poetry night also created space for new works by Hue-based writers, bringing the fresh breath of contemporary life to the stage and enriching the emotional tapestry of the program.

The First Full Moon Poetry Night is an annual event aimed at honoring the enduring values of poetry while serving as an early-spring cultural rendezvous for art lovers in Hue. Set against a poetic backdrop along the Huong River, this year’s program left a lasting impression on attendees, resonating with lingering emotions and memorable moments.
